UK Asbestos Training Association (UKATA)
UKATA Set the standards in asbestos training and ensure its members meet those standards.
Following on from their award winning Train Safe, Work Safe, Keep Safe Campaign which has seen over 10,000 hours of free asbestos awareness training offered to those who need it the most over the last 3 years. UKATA wish to support the No Time to Lose campaign and offer promotional support and guidance in ensuring this campaign is effective.
Over 5,000 die in the UK alone due to asbestos related disease, UKATA work with Mesothelioma UK and asbestos support groups to raise awareness of the risks associated to working with asbestos.
The UK Asbestos Training Association has almost 200 members nationwide delivering asbestos training accredited by The CPD Certification Service. Audits are conducted by UKATA in order to demonstrate compliance with the training requirements outlined in UKATA Syllabi for each specific level of training, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and any subsequent amendments and any other guidance pertaining to asbestos training issued by the enforcing authorities such as the HSE. All Tutors are competent in accordance with the UKATA Tutor Competency Framework.
