The Scottish Government is committed to protecting and promoting health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace, and we are pleased to continue our support for the IOSH’s No Time to Lose campaign.
In March 2016 we launched our ‘Beating Cancer: Ambition and Action’ strategy which is accompanied by £100 million of investment. This strategy serves as a blueprint for the future of cancer services in Scotland, and is aimed at improving the prevention, detection, diagnosis, treatment, aftercare and ultimately the survival, of all people affected by cancer.
Our commitment to the delivery of the Scottish Plan for Action on Safety and Health, launched earlier this year, recognises the importance of identifying and tackling hazards in the workplace and of protecting workers from the risk of harms such as cancer.
The No Time to Lose campaign plays an important role in raising awareness of both the risks and the actions that can be taken to address work-related exposure to carcinogens.
