Raise awareness of occupational cancer on World Cancer Day

IOSH is encouraging members to use the free resources from the new No Time to Lose campaign to raise awareness of occupational cancer on World Cancer Day.

14 January 2015

Taking place on 04 February 2015, World Cancer Day takes a positive, proactive approach to the fight against cancer, and brings together countries across the globe to mark the day with events and activities. Caroline Patel, Head of Campaigns, said:

“World Cancer Day is a good opportunity for members to bring a fresh focus to an in-house awareness campaign. The engagement resources that we offer as part of the IOSH No Time to Lose campaign will help safety and health professionals communicate important messages around managing carcinogenic exposures within their own businesses.

“Since we launched the campaign in November last year, it’s estimated that over 140,000 people have died across the world because of cancer contracted through what they did for a living. We need to act now to help tackle the causes of workplace cancer, from asbestos fibres through diesel exhaust fumes to solar radiation.”

By registering on the No Time to Lose website you'll find factsheets, presentations, leaflets, posters, films and more. You can also order free hard copies.
