  • Trainers aim to drive up Bangladesh health and safety standards

    Twenty-nine people have undergone training to enable them to deliver workshops to raise health and safety standards in Bangladesh’s factories and communities.

    The 15 women and 14 men were the first cohort of trainers to be recruited to the OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) Initiative for Workers and Communities, which is co-funded by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

    The UK Government’s new Industrial Strategy “begins to take the right steps to enhance worker protection”, according to IOSH, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.

  • Excellence Awards handed out in three categories

    IOSH’s annual Excellence Awards have been handed out, with two groups and a joint entry between a branch and group picking up the gongs.

    For the first time, the awards – designed to recognise projects which promote health and safety – were split into three categories to reflect IOSH’s WORK 2022 strategy: enhance, collaborate and influence.
