Healthcare Section

The Northwest Healthcare Services Section continues to remain an active and long established part of the Manchester and North West Districts Branch.

Our meetings are free, unless otherwise stated, and open to all members and non members working in the field of health and safety across the whole of the health and social care sector.  We also encourage other professionals from the sector along to any meetings that may be of interest.

We usually meet on the third Friday every two months starting in January at the Brookfield Masonic Hall, Westhoughton, Bolton.  Arrival and coffee is at 9:30 am with guest speaker presentations starting at 10:00. A free light buffet style lunch is also provided.

The 2017 programme is now available. Please take a look to see all events for 2017. It is always best to check the IOSH website or Connect diary for details before each meeting.

The coordination and variation of guest speaker presentations, in providing both strategic and operational direction, is seen as being a major factor in the continued success of our Section, but it doesn’t stop there. Our meetings are more than just about hearing from guest speakers.

They are also used to share best practice and lessons learned, hold open forums on a number of health and safety topics both at local and national level, get help with your career and professional development as well as providing networking opportunities of benefit to those new to a health and safety role or looking for alternative approaches.

Attendances at meetings are not just confined to the Northwest region but extend to include South Yorkshire and beyond.

You can view the minutes and presentations from previous meetings on Section Presentations page.

If you would like to know more you can email the Section.
