Message from the Chair of IOSH Forth and Tay Branch, Sandy Fowler:

For the last 16 years since its formation the Forth and Tay District of the Edinburgh Branch has provided help and support to members at meetings, seminars and events through an excellent range of guest speakers and topical subjects with lots of opportunities for networking professionally and socially and providing local support for members with the IPD (Initial Professional Development) process and to those members pursuing their CPD (Continual Professional Development).

The District has always had a core number of IOSH members/guests attend its meetings and the number of attendees has expanded over the last few years and as such the next natural step for progression in continuing and further developing this great work is to become a Branch and it gives me great pleasure as Chair to announce that the Forth and Tay District will become the Forth and Tay Branch on 1st September 2016.

This new status will allow the Branch to continue the hard work of the District committee and members and further develop relationships with other IOSH branches and groups and government and non-government agencies and organisations, which share a common interest in the provision of safe workplaces, promoting and supporting the aims and objectives of IOSH.

Please look out for the Branch’s full programme for 2016/17 which is available on the Branch website and sent out to members in the coming weeks and we look forward to seeing as many Branch members as possible at our meetings over the next 12 months and beyond.

I hope that this message gives you confidence that we are working hard for all our members to make sure that we find a way to support you, in whatever forms that may be, wherever you may be in the Branch area. The committee is here to serve members, and without your support we wouldn’t have such a thriving Branch – so a big thank you from the committee to all members of our Branch.

Sandy Fowler.

Chair of IOSH Forth and Tay Branch.
