Retirement

Members who have retired completely from working life can continue their membership at the concessionary rate of £36. The options are as follows;

Option 1 – If you want to keep your Technical, Graduate, Chartered or Chartered Fellow status you will need to maintain your CPD record online via MYIOSH. Ensuring that it meets our standard of compliance and is updated at least every six months. You will need to re-apply for the concessionary rate on an annual basis if you chose this option.

Option 2 – If you decide not to maintain your CPD then your status will be changed to one of the following; TechIOSH (retired), GradIOSH (retired) MIOSH (retired) or FIOSH (retired). If you take this option then you will NOT need to re-apply for the concessionary rate the following year. Your renewal will automatically be reduced to the concessionary rate going forward.

To join under our concessionary rate, you will need to download and complete both the membership application form (available via Join us by post) and the concessionary application form and submit both to membership@iosh.com along with one piece of evidence from the list provided on the form.

To renew under our concessionary rate, you will need to download and complete the concessionary application form and submit it to membership@iosh.com along with one piece of evidence from the list provided on the concessionary form.

We will respond to you within 5 working days to let you know whether you are eligible for the concessionary join / renew rate.

Transferring to another category of membership

Everyone joins IOSH initially as an Affiliate member. In order for us assess whether you are eligible for another category of membership once you have joined then please submit copies of relevant Health and Safety qualifications and an up to date CV to membership@iosh.com. We will then advise you accordingly. There is no fee to transfer to another category of membership.

Please note that in order for us to recommend you for transfer to another category of membership; you will need to ensure that you have a CPD Development Plan set up online via MYIOSH – MYCPD. Your development plan should outline your job role and responsibilities at present and your goals and objectives for the future. Without a CPD Development Plan, we are unable to recommend you for transfer.
