Society of Safety Engineers Ljubljana, Slovenian Chamber of Health and Safety at Work, and the Slovenian Association of Societies of Safety Engineers

In Slovenia, around 400 workers are diagnosed each year with occupational cancers, and around 30 cases are from the most severe form of disease caused by asbestos – mesothelioma. In the past, many businesses in Slovenia used asbestos, resulting in an estimated annual exposure of over 23,000 workers.

By highlighting work-related carcinogenic exposures, IOSH’s No Time to Lose campaign will help to raise awareness not only of diseases due to asbestos, but also other work-related carcinogenic exposures. The campaign offers practical support to employers and safety professionals to help them tackle this significant occupational health issue.

The Society of Safety Engineers Ljubljana, Slovenian Chamber of Health and Safety at Work, and Slovenian Association of Societies of Safety Engineers are pleased to support this campaign and we look forward to working with IOSH in furthering its aims.
